Hey friends! Happy Tuesday! I hope you are having a great week!
If you know me, I don’t like to sit down and am always on the move whether it be with volunteering at the kids school, getting sh*t done around here, ubering my kids everywhere and staying on top of their everyday needs. To stay on top of my game, I do these 5 things everyday.
I love to exercise! Being a group fitness instructor for 30+ years I love any type of fitness. As soon as something new was introduced into the industry, I took the training and got a certification for it. I recently put my Zumba license on hold and am really loving CrossFit! If you want to exercise daily you HAVE to SCHEDULE it otherwise, it won’t happen.
We have all heard it many, many, many times that you need to DRINK WATER. Not only does it hydrate you but it also aids in weight loss. Sources say we need to drink at least eight 8 ounce glasses per day commonly known as the 8×8 rule which is easy to remember. This rule may not pertain to everyone but a basic water rule.
Gratitude is so important. I am grateful for many things everyday and sometimes I have to remind myself of all the wonderful things in my life ie: my husband, kids, family, a house over my head, food in the fridge etc. I am constantly telling my kids to be grateful for what they have and to never compare yourself to others and be happy for what you have.
I know you this one is hard but you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of your family. If you really want to take care of yourself you will make the time. Maybe that is getting up before the kids do. I can’t tell you how many times I have done this, whether it be to just sit alone with a cup of coffee or going to a 5am CrossFit class because it is the only time I can go during the day. If it’s important to you, you will find a way.
Sleep is so important! You should aim for at least 7-8 hours a night. You will be more rested and be ready to take on the day having more energy to do all the things. Studies have shown that skimping on sleep sets you up for making bad decisions and can lead to low energy and being too tired to do everything else.
What things do you do daily for self care? I have such a productive day when I do these 5 things.
