Hey Friends! Happy ‘almost’ Friday! Hope your week is going well! We had a ‘faux’ snow day for NO snow… Honestly, I am not kidding. There were threats of us getting 1 inch… I know my hometown Ohio friends are laughing. But no one wants to have another ATL ‘Snowpocolypse’ event like we had 4 years ago, so the governor closed all offices which led to all schools closing. So yesterday was spent catching up, running kids to activities earlier due to threats of a possible another ‘faux’ snow day coming in, kids asking all day for food, and then no snow🤷🏻♀️ But the kids enjoyed the FREE day.
I am on a roll over here organizing one area at a time. So far I have organized the following areas:
Today is all about my craft table. Did you know I used to be into scrapbooking? I had a friend that invited me to a scrapbooking night 10 years ago. I was intrigued because I had so many pictures in folders on my computer but never did anything with them. I attended on a Friday night, and totally fell in love with it! The lady that hosted the scrapbooking events would do one Friday/Saturday a month. She was a creative memories rep. She had a group of women that would come to her house and we would scrapbook for 5 hours on a Friday night or from 9 – 5 pm on a Saturday. She did this one weekend a month. It was so much fun. My kids were little at the time and it was a great way for me to get out of the house while Karl took over and I was putting our pictures into books. I have several books filled for all the kids, family, our wedding, honeymoon etc. Here are a few samples of my scrapbooking capabilities.
I really loved it but as the kids got older it got harder to get away as activities came up and they got busier. So my scrapbooking came to a hault for many years. I tried to do it at home hence this small nook, but just didn’t have the time. Since I have not done any scrapbooking for several years, it has turned into a catch all for all ‘craft’ supplies, kids art and pictures. Here is what I started with.
Not horrible, a little bit of organization, but still needed a good clean out.
I took out all the stuff:
I went through it all with the help of my MIL. We purged, consolidated and put all the stuff to donate in a pile to take to Goodwill.
And here is the after:
That table is actually a very old singer sewing machine that sits in the cabinet. It is old and I cannot part with it just yet. For now it makes a great table and fits perfectly in this nook. When I am not using this area, I just pull the curtains that I hung with a shower rod.
Once again, I used my steps for cleaning out an area:
Another area done! The craft table project has now turned into this next project: Project kids art and school photos. I’m still reviewing apps to use to capture and organize it all. Stay tuned!
What areas are you working on? I have heard from so many of you about how you are #tidyingup your spaces and I think it’s awesome! Keep at it! #oneprojectatatime
